Terms and Conditions

Last updated: July 18, 2025

1. Overview

By booking and attending an appointment at Ferguson Street Osteopathy, you agree to the following Terms and Conditions, which are designed to support respectful, safe and professional care. These apply to all clients receiving services from our clinic, whether in-person or remotely.

2. Appointment Bookings

Appointments can be made online, over the phone or in person. Appointment times are approximate; while we aim to run on time, minor delays may occasionally occur due to the nature of clinical care. New clients must complete a health intake form before their first session. Clients under 18 must have a parent or guardian present for the initial consult, unless agreed otherwise.

3. Fees and Payment

  • Fees are clearly listed on our website and may vary depending on appointment type or duration.
  • Payment is required in full on the day of your appointment. We accept EFTPOS, credit card and HICAPS for eligible private health rebates.
  • Prices are subject to change. We will notify clients of any fee increases with reasonable notice.

4. Cancellations and Missed Appointments

  • We require at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling.
  • Late cancellations and missed appointments may incur a fee, at our discretion.
  • Repeat no-shows may result in refusal of future bookings.
  • We understand that unexpected situations arise — please call us as soon as possible if you’re unable to attend.

5. Health Records and Privacy

  • Your personal and health information is managed in accordance with our Privacy Policy, and the Australian Privacy Principles.
  • All clinical notes are securely stored in Cliniko and accessible only to relevant team members.
  • You may request a copy of your records or ask for corrections to be made. A written request is required for record transfers.

6. Practitioner Scope of Practice

  • All osteopaths at Ferguson Street Osteopathy are registered with Ahpra and practice within their scope and training.
  • We do not diagnose or treat conditions outside the scope of osteopathy.
  • If we feel that another healthcare provider is better placed to assist you, we’ll refer you on appropriately.

7. Consent to Treatment

  • By attending an appointment, you consent to assessment and treatment as outlined by your practitioner.
  • Treatment may include hands-on techniques such as joint mobilisation, soft tissue work or stretching.
  • You can withdraw consent at any time — just let your practitioner know.
  • Your practitioner will always discuss what is appropriate and obtain verbal or written consent before proceeding with any sensitive or paediatric care.

8. Client Conduct and Expectations

  • We maintain a safe, inclusive and respectful environment for clients and staff.
  • Abusive, discriminatory or inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated and may result in refusal of service.
  • Please arrive clean and wear comfortable clothing suitable for physical assessment.

9. Children and Dependants

  • Children must be supervised at all times within the clinic.
  • For paediatric appointments, a parent or legal guardian must be present unless otherwise agreed in writing.
  • Please bring any relevant medical or developmental reports with you to help inform care.

10. Use of Clinic Facilities

  • Our waiting area, bathroom and change space are available for client use.
  • Security cameras are in place for safety in the public areas of the clinic.
  • Any damage to clinic property, whether accidental or intentional, may result in liability for repair or replacement costs.

11. Amendments to Terms and Conditions

  • We may update these Terms from time to time. The most current version will always be available on our website.
  • Continued use of our services after any changes indicates acceptance of the updated Terms.
